Supporting St Peter’s
St Peter’s needs your support.
Colleges and Universities can no longer rely on government funding as they have done in the past. It now costs over £19,000 to put one student through one year of an Oxford education (excluding accommodation, food, books etc). Of this, the student provides £3000 and approximately half the remainder comes from the Government. It is up to St Peter’s and the University to make up the shortfall of nearly £8000 per student per year. Unlike older colleges, St Peter’s has very limited endowment, so fundraising is especially important to us.
The generosity of our friends and Old Members has been crucial to our success since we were founded and your gift, whatever its size, is extremely important to us. Over the last few years the number of Old Members pledging their support to the College has increased markedly. Last year 22% of our former students made a gift to the College. Such strong grass-root support has helped St Peter’s to secure several significant donations from wealthy individuals and demonstrates the strength of the St Peter’s community.
Please join your contemporaries by making a gift to St Peter’s. Every gift makes a genuine and real difference to student life at the College.
