Middle Common Room

Breadcrumbs

The Middle Common Room (MCR) refers to St Peter’s community of post-graduates and also the common room, which serves as a focus for this community.  St Peter’s has one of the smaller MCRs in Oxford, numbering between 100 and 150 members. However despite its size, it is a lively and cosmopolitan group with members from around the world studying for a variety of Masters degrees and doctorates in both the Arts and Sciences.

The MCR comprises a common room, a television room (with DVD and video facilities) and a small kitchen. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and offers a social focus, where members can meet up, relax, eat or drink, read newspapers and engage in intellectual debate or just some gossip.

Each year a committee is elected to represents the interests of the MCR within the College; to organize social events, including bops (Oxford–speak for parties), cultural events and trips; and to act as a point of contact for advice on a variety of issues.
