The College occupies a compact site in the heart of the city, close to many University departments and libraries, and to both bus and train stations. Oxford’s shops, cafes, theatres and cinemas are just minutes away, as is the newly developed Castle site, which provides the city with an additional focus.

As a result of new building projects currently underway, we expect to be able to house all undergraduates for at least two years.  Our accommodation mainly comprises traditional study-bedrooms on the main college site and modern purpose-built residences a few minutes walk away. All meals are provided in the dining hall for a termly charge; baguettes and light snacks are available from the College coffee shop.

The College has a well-equipped Library, which is open 24 hours a day and holds nearly 50,000 books and periodicals, including both basic texts and more specialised publications required for general undergraduate work.

Sports, major and minor - ranging rom rowing to table football – are well represented at St Peter’s, many enjoying considerable success within the University. The College has shared sports facilities and there is a small fitness room on site. The Junior Common Room and college bar are the venues for numerous student-organised events throughout the year. The JCR also provides TV and video facilities, and is a comfortable social space.

Artistic activities flourish and there is a lively arts week each year. There are opportunities to write for College publications, and the College Drama Society organises productions every term and welcomes new actors, playwrights and stage-hands.

Music is well catered for, with a strong instrumental, choral and jazz tradition. The College has good music facilities including two grand pianos, an organ and a harpsichord, as well as ample practice space. The Music Society puts on concerts regularly. The mixed chapel choir, made up of choral scholars and volunteers, sings regularly in chapel services and also tours both in the UK and Europe. The Chapel itself is used as an excellent acoustic space for concerts, dramatic performances and special events, as well as for regular services.
