Physics and Philosophy
Historically, there has always been a close relationship between Physics and Philosophy, and key issues in each subject have been influenced by thought and development in the other. The Oxford course allows students to pursue the two fields in parallel, concentrating on the more theoretical aspects of Physics and on Modern Philosophy and the Theory of Knowlege; it also contains bridging material such as the Philosophy of Physics.
Students may either pursue a three-year BA degree or take the optional fourth year (specialising, if they wish, in one side of the course or the other) for the MPhysPhil degree. For further details about the course see www.philosophy.ox.ac.uk and www.physics.ox.ac.uk .
